Sodium Hydroxide/Caustic
GAC supplies the industry standard 50% sodium hydroxide (caustic) and also a diluted 25% solution. Our sodium hydroxide meets the requirements of the Pulp and Paper Industry in Maine as well as other water and wastewater applications. Aluminum Sulfate (Alum)
GAC’s high performance iron free alum is used in papermaking, and is considered the industry standard. Its ultra clear grade is used in the photography industry as a fixer. The technical and NSF certified grades are used in the potable and wastewater municipal markets. GAC reacts sulfuric acid with aluminum trihydrate to produce the various grades of alum. Each of the grades has raw material specifications, processing parameters, and quality requirements including some “ultra” filtration.

Sodium Aluminate
GAC produces sodium aluminate by reacting diaphragm or membrane sodium hydroxide with aluminum trihydrate. GAC’s standard product is a 38% sodium aluminate solution but can manufacture up to 45% upon request. All grades are processed to ISO standards and consistently meet manufacture and customer quality requirements.

Ammonium Hydroxide (Aqua Ammonia)
GAC produces aqua ammonia (ammonium hydroxide) by absorbing purified anhydrous ammonia with deionized water. Concentrations from 29.5% to 5.0% are made on a regular basis. GAC can make specific concentrations as required upon request. Contact our Sales Department for additional information. Once produced, the aqua ammonia is put through a standard battery of quality assurance tests to insure product quality. GAC’s basis for consistent quality is the ISO program. GAC uses dedicated tank trucks and packages for its aqua ammonia.

Sodium Hypochlorite
GAC distributes 15% by trade (12.5% Wt.) sodium hypochlorite solution (bleach). Various concentrations can be provided upon request. GAC can also provide various concentrations of excess caustic for those applications requiring additional alkalinity. Contact our Sales Department for additional information.

GAC supplies the industry standard 93+% sulfuric acid (66ยบ baume). Our acid meets the stringent low mercury requirements of the Pulp and Paper Industry in Maine and other regional jurisdiction.
